Photo history...(in other words, a backdated post)

I'm going on a trip tomorrow so I have to clear out the pictures in my phone. Oh yeah, to clarify, I've been using my phone's camera function primarily lately because something went wrong with my phone and I've left it with Bi. Right, so anyway, looking back at all the photos, I'd have to say this is the best way to document my life - including all the 'mou liu' (nonsensical) things I take pictures of.

Like this latest one

which is of tiny baby spiders that decided to act as stars and scatter all over my ceiling last night. I thought it was kind of cute if not for the fear that they would crawl on me while i slept. And in my amusement I called for the entire house to come see this weird happening and daddy immediately told me to clear my bed so he can exterminate them with insectiside. :( Poor baby spiders, it's ok..they're legend lives on in my blog and they're effort for pretending to be indoor stars for me (eventhough I think they were probably drawn to the heat from the light?) will never be forgotten!

And this was taken last week at Darling Harbour. I was walkin with my relatives to the theater to watch Mamma Mia the musical. Well, unlike big shopping malls like KLCC and Midvalley with their fantastic decorations, preparations for Christmas are quite a bit more laidback here.
Note the row of kangaroos hoping their way up to the star at the top of the tree! Santa uses flying kangaroos here. Hur hur.

The only photo I was able to take in the theatre, not that I got caught or told off but my aunty did...possible career as a spy. Swt.

And the week before that, I baked a cake to use up the nectarines we bought out of curiosity but failed to finish before they started drying up. And what's worst, they're of the variety that has seeds which cling to the flesh to so hard to pitt! *sobs*

Oh this gem is the second time I've used the 'panorama' feature of my cameraphone. My family joined my aunt's friend's family for a picnic then a hike up to a lighthouse and at one point you can see both bays at once. The right is the lake and the left is the ocean (I hope I didn't get them the other way round -_-"). On that day I had planned to take my driver's knowledge test in the morning before the hike but I had some identification problems so Fail no.3. -_-"

Chill, chill.. and food makes everyone happy, right? Heh. Proof of my mommy's love for me! She bothers to pretty up my food even if it's just a simple lunch. Um.. I can't remember what cutlet it was, mashed potatoes and onion soup. *hearts*

Oh and a lil promo of Max Brenner, some chocolate lounge place (btw, students here are so rich they can afford to come to these kinds of fancy places to meet up and work on their assignments. Meh) not unlike Theobroma. I love this little hug mug~! It makes me think of drinking warm chocolate while curled up on the sofa beside a loved one watching tv on a cold day with your hands wrapped around this mug while his arms are wrapped around you. ^.^ Um, other than that, I personally prefer Lindt cafe though. xP

Aaaaand Melwie's birthday/my farewell at Sumo's. Sniff. I miss them! T_T Oh, and we were gluttons that night. To be expected, to be expected.. ^^;

Speaking of missing someones, my Bi snoozing under a coconut tree with his second most prized possesion (first is me. hur hur) while we were at church camp! *insert evil grin emoticon here*

Plus, we had our second anniversary before church camp~!

That was our lunch on that day - Ikea Swedish meatballs. No, I can't think of anything punny to say right now about balls on a significant day. -_-" But anyway, I love you, baby! Even if you don't/hardly read my blog. Eheh.

No, we didn't kampai and drink to our happiness. The picture is as blur as me and my bestie, Mel, felt after having err.. 6(?) shots of vodka and Ribena cause her mom taught us the right way to mix and pour it and encouraged us to drink finish the less-than-half bottle that was left. Thank you, aunty! *happy*

Commemoration! Nah, more like a whim cause I suddenly wanted a second piercing on one ear and Mel wanted a third so we shared and she got one on the right and I on the left. Lol. I heart her, she does random things like this with me. xD

Vic is rox byes indeed. T_T

Oh, and my other set of favourite people even though they're not all in the picture. Sweaty dudes playing cool before tournament. Actually, what cool la.. damn hot okay that day. I so nice spend all day with them. xP

Row of bullying. xP

Aaaaaaaaand that was the last picture! Not in my phone but for this post because I'm tired and I still haven't packed and there's still a heckload of photos to clear. T_T Well, til the next time then.

Wrong way, write way.

I've always enjoyed writing, maybe more so in high school when the accomplishment of finishing and twisting yet another essay title as far out of context as it could go always allowed me a sporadic sense of creative high. Yet after high school, I rarely had the chance to spew characters, ideas, and worlds onto paper and even blogged only rarely. Ekhem. Oh, but I have not lost that love for where else would I turn to when an idea spun a particularly sticky web in my head?

Lacking the gift of gab, my ideas translate more directly instead into ink on paper, materialising more simply than if I tried to bend the air to my thoughts.

This year, I considered joining NaNoWriMo, even wrote a little of the first chapter. But that idea stayed sane and did not spin out of control and so I left it alone deeming it 'not meant to be'. These days, I write no story but my own and lacking as it is in sense or entertainment, I write it in lieu of the Dory-days I should suffer in the future. *shudder*

As it is, my mind has made space for more recent memories by pushing back older, fonder memories into the dark dusty storage space at the back of my mind. They struggle to resurface, however, and sometimes they succeed. Like the other day I found myself remembering that I used to lie on the cold marble floor in my grandparents' home as a child playing with cars or coloring. Ah, carefree days when all I did was have fun and that would bring joy to all who loved me. What a funny notion that is now.

Though perhaps they'd be thinking 'Since you like writing so much, shouldn't you be working on bettering your CV since it seems not to be working?' And here I'll have to concede and slink offline. Jaa ne~

Slovenly update

Two months have passed and I haven't posted because I speak regularly to all who read this space anyway. (Deja vu, I think I've given this excuse before. Drat!)

Things have gone from being interesting in that curious way it is to a newcomer's eyes to rather mundane. I still hear police/ambulance sirens almost daily. And apparently the drunks sing their off key medley to the cold window panes of my brother's and parent's rooms every Thursday to Sunday. I don't suppose it's very much different from the locally produced off key medleys I hear on the radio anyway. Yes, I'm being utterly mean and no I can't sing but I can hear and what I've been hearing, I don't like.

And then there's the awful soap operas like 'Bold and the oh-my-God-it's-still-running Beautiful' which my mom resorted to watching and is now hooked on, much to my chagrin. So, no there really isn't much by way of entertainment here unless you want to go 'take a hike' (hur hur), take pictures of the scenery, drink yourself stupid and take a dump on the hotel carpet after that... you get the picture. But my family does try to go for walks every weekend at various parks so I guess there're a few pictures I can post up.

Sunset at the Homebush Bay park.

Dangling my legs over the ledge of Balmoral Bay.

The sailing dock at Balmoral Bay.

There should be more but they're in my phone and I'm a little lazy to load them from there. Heh. Furthermore, I am supposed to be looking for a job right now after all. Or practicing my driver's knowledge test. Grr. Such tedious things I never thought I'd ever have to do again. Till next time then..

The window open - A morning

The sunlight streams through strong and bright as early as 7 in the morning. And if that is not enough to bring you back from worlds ethereal back into this mundane one, the Kookabarras must add their chorus too.

"Good morning, Kookabarra" I mutter, staring out at the not-so-Secret-Garden of Australia. Ivy does not cover the walls for one, and neither is the place entirely overgrown. Just barely, in fact. But that's what you get with a large backyard and a family neither of whose thumbs are properly green. The trees are nice, though. We have three large ones and a few other young-ish saplings. They were probably planted by a past owner of this place. Just not sure which past owner. I suppose it doesn't matter. What matters is the trees stand now, invitingly to an assortment of birds - Kookabarra being one of them, extending shade and welcome to future owners. Or perhaps just giving them more to do, in terms of tidying up the garden. Ah well.

There can be no ownership without effort, though, I suppose. Or so my mom says. A house is just a house and not really a home if you don't live in it. Invest some time, emotions, sweat, and in some cases, money in the place. I suppose my first investment is liking the house. But it's really the least I can have - a home - considering I have to rebuild the rest. Ah well.

To work, then, to work. (a pun, some may get and some may not. ;p)

Fashion vs. Weather

People with a low tolerance for cold weather may sympathise more highly with me in this post. Especially those who are real fashionistas and believe in the 'oi leng moi mang' (want beauty, don't want life - direct translation) statement.

When I first came here on holiday bout 2 years ago, I brought minimal clothing so as not to have too much luggage and a pair of shopping slippers and a pair of sports shoes. My clothes consisted of long sleeve tops, vests I could layer with and long pants. No shorts.
By the end of the three week trip, I was dying to get back and start wearing shorts and sleeveless tops again. Bleh.

This time around, it's no 'easy' two week trip that'll end just round the next corner. So because I'm stubborn and yes, I'm one of those 'oi leng moi mang' people, I've decided not to care anymore! I mean, I know la that jeans are like the easiest thing to match (and thank God they're also the warmest thing around) but a girl would like some variation too. And I get so jealous when I see other girls (who've obviously been here longer than I have) sporting shorts and skirts. So, here my act of defiance! I'm wearing tropical shorts today! Hmph!

*legs turn into ice cream sticks* ah well..... -_-"

That banana-curve from KL to Sydney

So I'm finally down to doing my little stint in the Land Down Under. Thank God for reruns of old favourites as in-flight movies. It's not so easy to mope your eyes out while watching Legally Blonde and The Incredibles in succession. :)
I didn't, however, get much sleep either. Just little naps here and there. I sat next to an old couple coming home after what seemed to be a happy second honeymoon in Thailand. They very nicely pointed out to me that border security can get nasty about the food they catch you "smuggling" in which meant me bidding goodbye to the little chocolate chip muffin I couldn't quite stomach for breakfast.

Even in an old, quaint looking red brick house, it's a little freezy cause I got here just in time to enjoy the end of winter. As always with me and cold-ish places, showers are a pain and it feels like I may have packed the wrong clothes for this place.
Oh well.. mayhaps it opens the way for additional members to my closet family. xD That's quite unlikely, though as I suddenly recall my mother mentioning my supply of winter clothes being the most impressive in the family. *blush*

And as at the end of the day I sit here in my pink sleeping-bunny slippers after having my first skype-date with K, the events of the past 24 hours sink in. I'm actually here now. Everyone really did bid me goodbye at the airport (tearfully, or not) and all the 'preparations' of the past six months has really come to naught. Or at least it feels that way. The physical evidence of said 'preparations' such as the two books of finally processed photos on my desk speaks otherwise. I will be heavily leaning on those books the coming months I believe.

while Facebook tries and tries so hard to load...

I suppose it's time for an update or two or well, one too sum up the many that should have been. Heh.

Four days ago, I returned from a week long trip to Sarawak.
Two days before the trip was his birthday.

Which we celebrated with the family and steaks as well as dessert. Of course his was the complimentary special brownie. :)
Happy birthday again, love.

Two days ago I realised that our return from Sarawak was just in time for Tyga to greet us one last time. :(Tyga came as an uber cute little puppy first christened Jackie after Jackie Chan. He hit it off with K's Carlsberg and whenever Carlsberg got free, the two could be seen roaming together. The little rascal started filching shoes and whatnot off other people's doorsteps and his owner had to make morning rounds returning everyone's things.

Boy, did that sound like some book synopsis or something. Meh.

Well, there's no 'Marley and Me' ending for this little fella. He's been given away to his owner's sister. *sniff* No more lil puppy (though he's not so 'lil' anymore) bounding up to greet me everytime I come over then. I'll miss you, Tyga! T_T

Sarawak's too long an update for a quick midnight post so I'm ending it with a picture of Tyga chasing his own tail.

And food came tumbling after.

Already that feeling of nostalgia settled upon me this morning as I awoke to no plans and no extensive menu for the day. I even missed Bryan calling our room phone pretending to be the reception desk but failing because we all know his voice so well.

The second morning, we initially planned to head up to Penang hill until Bryan took another look at the map and declared it "Too far". Thus, we all agreed to hit Little India instead. :)
When my family visits Penang, we hardly or almost never visit Little India. Maybe because the nasi kandar stores my mom knows are outside of this vicinity but anyway, it was a nice change to visit these kinds of places with the gang. Little India proved as quaint and interesting as the rest of Penang. Only the bright riot of colors on the floor and clothes for sale and smell of burning incense at some doorways gave the district a distinct character of its own.

We are trying to get away from KL but KL comes to us.
Whether by influence of weather or the allure of all the colors, Bryan decided to pick up a holiday purchase in the shape of two kurtas. And here one of the salesmen at the shop recognised Li Mei as the girl who used to walk past his mamak food restaurant in KL.. ah the coincidence. Choosing the garments was truly the fun part of the process. Even I was tempted seeing how thin and cool the material looked in this scorching hot weather.

We spent more time than I described in Little India walking to the end of the road where the it crosses into Lebuh China and straight on into the harbour. It's a testimony of how interesting the place is that our budding photographers/touristy friends stopped to take all sorts of shots from different angles of particular buildings or objects. And yup, that's them taking pictures in the sweets shop. Indian sweets have got to be one of the best kind. They're sweet, milky and they even blended that orange topped chocolate so well! *hearts* Sadly I didn't get a picture of that one.. it went down our gullets too fast. *guilty* There are other good stuff though that I did get pictures of.Like a portion of the display at the Indian sweets shop. I think the chocolate/orange thingy is the brown ones at the bottom but I can't be too sure. I actually didn't have any of these funky looking delicacies except for the ladu on the far left.

And this is the Vaju Apple that P-chan was also very smitten with. I can't blame her. Not only does it taste like sweet apple, the texture is very much like soft, slightly chewy dough, not to mention how delicious it is to the eye as well.

After that, I followed the half of the camera toting group to hunt down Khoo Kongsi while exhausted drivers, Bryan and K, stayed in the cars. We ended up finding Lim Kongsi instead where a nice Hokkien lady, who's probably the caretaker, let us in. Here we marvelled at the architecture and camwhored with the dragon carvings in the courtyard.
The interior, though, befuddled our senses with the rich array of color and intricate details.
Now tired and in need of air-conditioning, we sought refuge in Queensbay Mall but not before stopping to enjoy the view at a small seaside area by the mall. The fishermen who were trying to make a living there must have been glad to see us go though so thank our hungry stomachs.

As the usual fastfood places like KFC and McDonald's were out of the question since no one comes to Penang to eat these foods, we settled on what seemed to be a unique choice (read, 'can't be found in KL'). The Taiwan Bull waiters wore cute black caps with red bull horns which may have been one of the deciding factors on my part as well.

I have to say it's a good thing the ambience was nice because the food was mostly not to our tastes. The soup had a distinct herbal flavour that did not seem to reach the rice and meat. So all in all, it wasn't bad but it wasn't the best either. At least our hungry stomachs were filled.

Oh, before lunch, Bryan and Jee-sama went to buy 'tea'. This is the 'tea' they bought:

The sneaky ones planned a surprise belated celebration for me that day and here I was coming back from accompanying Li Mei to the loo wondering why they were all standing about and thinking something was wrong. ^^;
Thanks, guys! The choice of flavour was inspired, I loved it! :) And if I didn't tear, it's not because I'm not touched, I'm just blur and kayu that way. >_<
Anyway, after tummies full of so-so lunch and brownies, we had a long, long, long, drive (that got K's tyres smoking o_o) to one of Bryan's favourite spots. We even passed the forest reserve that we didn't intend to hike but stopped by anyway to take some pictures of the harbour.

I'll admit, I was looking for shade when I took that pic. The weather chose to be particularly scorching on the day we decided to do most of our 'exploring'. I'm pleased with how outdoor pictures turn out on such days although when we got to the actual Dam...

Well, I'll be dam-ned! NO pictures of the dam itself! (Teehee)
It's certainly not because the place was not as tranquil and beautiful as Bryan said. It was more a matter of the place being soothingly lovely for the eye with a stretch of greenery being the only thing separating calm water and brilliant blue sky and nothing else of particular detail that beckoned for this sub-par "photographer" to capture it.

That being said, the searing heat burned up our love for the serene, peaceful and idyllic mighty quickly. YMCA's air-cond rooms was our next destination.

Tiring as the day had been, it wasn't over yet as Li Mei and P-chan arranged for our senior Bernard to meet up with us for the traditional mamak session (and coerce him into bringing us to one of the better stalls. Teehee). The guys wanted to prove their bottomless pits by not only downing dinner earlier but also scarfing down a plate of Indian rice each (complete with a hill of rice and at least 2 side dishes) while the rest of us settled for murtabak and roti john.
Though I believe all of us proved our mettle at breakfast on the last day with plates upon plates of delicious, affordable Dim Sum.

A good, healthy close to our very enjoyable trip much like our hopeful wishes to make yet another trip together. I've probably left out many other little anecdotes like our trip to Gurney Plaza and the guys' purchases of a remote control car each but hey, I'm just one piece of the puzzle that blogged about this.

p/s - Thankfully..seeing how I got lazy halfway through writing this post that eventhough I started it sooner, even Jee-sama has posted his Part II on the trip before I have. ^^;

Eat till you can roll off Penang hill!

But no, that's not what we did seeing as none of us are actual Penangites that know all the backalley roads where delicious non-commercialised food lurks. *sob* However! Thanks to Bryan who is a kaki makan and has great sense of direction (and even complimentary Penangite driving skills), we still managed to find yummy relatively cheap food (KL you money sucking fiend!). And although I'm sure we could've done better with more than three days, the last three days we spent there in each others' company eating, gaming (in some people's cases), shopping (wah the DVDs!) and doing whatever other nonsense post-graduates do was good fun and made me wish I had more siblings like these. But now I'm back and have thought it over, maybe not la..haha.

Besides, his bag is even bigger!
said P-chan, pointing at Jee-sama's bag, in defence of her big red duffel bag. And so began our journey. We separated into two little cars since no one in our families who has nice big family cars will trust us to take one away for three days. Eheh. Here's the people in the same car with me!

As you can see from K's raised-eyebrow half smile, we make for very strange passengers. But I assure you that no driver will fall asleep on our watch! P-chan went on a click-happy spree trying to get photos of almost everything on our journey (limestone hills, palm oil groves, that Hollywood Ipoh sign, you name it! lol). My camera, unfortunately, seems to have given out after constant use over the past three years *pouts* so for now, I'm relying on my trusty camera phone. And over the bridge we go! Upon reaching George town, we were pleasantly surprised to note that the sun over Penang is more forgiving than what we have here in KL. And here began our search for the YMCA where we were supposed to stay for the two nights. Now, only understanding a smattering of Mandarin is ultimately troublesome if you plan to ask for directions in a city where the language mainly spoken is either Hokkien or Mandarin. Having lost sight of Bryan's car after he escaped a red light and we didn't, we were forced to ask for directions or drive in circles, wasting precious petrol. The old man we asked gave me directions in Mandarin except for the all-important words 'left' and 'right' which I believe he got mixed up seeing as we went in the opposite direction. -_-" But all's well, we found the place after a phone call to the YMCA themselves (who misheard P-chan's husky voice, causing her much aggravation).
And then we reunited at the YMCA! There's Li Mei flinging open the curtains in the girls' room first thing in a "very early morning". Ekhem. Of course, if one does not take into account that it takes at least 4 hours to get to Penang and we left at about 10.30am, it would still be morning when we arrived. :)

Haha, so cute, she gets up so quickly when she's told.
said Li Mei of P-chan cause the both of us were excited/dowan-and-cannot-sit-still in the hostel room anymore and were itching to go out and photograph those quaint colonial houses (and even the gothic graveyard but we never got to in the end). P-chan had to lie back down though, to sleep off Mr. Cold who tagged along with her. Grr. So we dragged the gentlemanly boys out instead. Hee.

This is the first creepy house we chanced upon around the corner from the hostel. Strange things were dangling from the eaves of this olden style abandoned house like the bunch of children's toys in the picture I took above. Jee-sama and Li Mei immediately launched into snap-happy mode while the other two boys stood on the side and cautioned us to wash our feet when we got back to the hostel. Eheh. It is true that there were various talismans put up around the place though.
And if photographing creepy old houses wasn't enough, we discovered that our two friends also have a penchant for turning paparazzi! But this is what they were photographing.A gorgeous, sprawling old mansion even Bi said he'd like to refurbish into its original splendor again. I must admit, I'd like to see that. Even in its current state, one can see the beauty it was in its heyday. And I do wonder what made the owners abandon it. One can only hope a ruthless money-breathing developer isn't eyeing this plot of land greedily. *gulp* There are many more of these fine architectural pieces dotted all over Penang although we didn't get to see too many in our pursuit of the good food. After dropping by Ghee Hiang for a while and taking photographic advantage of their lovely interior, we turned back to the hostel for a short break and to collect P-chan for an early dinner.
I suppose this is the bit everyone really wants to see when one mentions one is going up to Penang....
Gurney Drive proved to be as fruitful as ever even if many say the quality of the food has gone down over the years.
The usual staples, char kuey teow, laksa and oh chien. Food like these just can't be found elsewhere. As you can see, the cockles are arranged neatly on one side of the plate. I don't like cockles so anyone sitting on either side of me is usually welcome to have them. :)

Oh, this stall wasn't open though:
If anyone should deign to try, do let me know how it is. As it is, we all got a good laugh out of the blatant use of commercial icons. :D

I didn't get a picture of the mua chee, nor did I have much of it, seeing as it can be gotten from pasar malams in KL as well. P-chan was absolutely gone over them, however. ^^;

Being the Malaysians we are, we picked food off of each others' plates just to see which is best and which we'd like to order another plate of. Almost everyone ordered a plate of char kuey teow with duck egg of their own each but that's because the other stall that Bryan recommended wasn't open. I couldn't help it though. Upon reaching Penang, it was a single-minded goal of mine to have at least one plate of char kuey teow. :) Ah, the oh chien, however...now that's divine. I'd forgotten how good oh chien is and quite often turn it down. There is NO.turning.down.Penang oh chien!Needless to say, we had two plates and would've had more if not for the fact that we'd all like to live long enough to have another plate on another trip here. Ah, the fresh oysters that so many stalls in KL can't seem to emulate (the only thing they can copy is the price, and that they do very well indeed -_-").

That's day one in a small smattering of pictures and long wordy descriptions. Just thought I'd better get started before I put it off too long and the memories are stale and the pictures never put to use. Since moments last as long as we remember them, I'm putting this one down so I'll hopefully have it forever. Good friends, good food, good fun. What more could one want on a holiday? ^^

He liked it better when I couldn't cook or clean!

That should get all sorts of attention( Feminist or otherwise. heh). But yes, it's true. He likes it better when you're not a mother-hen running around with your head off still trying to mop up the blood while it spills from your neck. :)

And yes, contrary to popular belief that a woman's place is in the kitchen, I can't quite cook or clean very well. See, it doesn't take all those memes to get me to put up stupid facts about myself. I'm shamelessly airing the fact here! Besides, I've got friends who're in the same boat as me, so there! I won't put their names here though just so they can choose to air it themselves or put it into any future memes. :) *waves at friends*

Consider this though, if he makes a better cook than you (I won't say anything bout cleaning I mean, what's so inspiring about waltzing with a mop? Eh, if you're skinny don't take offence, k? -_-") why stop the gourmet chef in the making? Utilitarianism would agree that you'd be doing the world a good service by offering up another great chef to cater to palates all around and even if he never open a restaurant, you've got someone to whisk up something for you on your down days without having to worry he'll burn down the kitchen, no? ;)

Speaking of being down, it seems I have the flu again. It's a pain in the nosey that forces me to skip class but heck, I seem to want to blog when I've got it. *shrugs* And yes, I got a nice plate of omelettes for my sneezes, thanks. :)

Jumble-laya...

Coming to the university really early in the morning is either a pain in the neck or a good chance to gather your thoughts in peace. The library is often quiet, as it is, but at this time its also near-empty. And cold.

Having had the foresight to retrieve his jacket from the car earlier, I slip into its warm comfort gratefully. Even if it looks ridiculous on me like an overly-casual grey lab coat or even like, now that I have short hair, a boy though a little on the feminine side. Here, it doesn't matter though. The warmth is close to that of a constant hug, an embrace I can feel even when he's not directly beside me. It lends some comfort, at least.

There is truly no rest. As rolling waves that come in one after another, at times getting bigger with each wave, so do assignment deadlines keep knocking me over. I don't think I'm alone in saying that "I WANT A BREAK!" though I probably am all by myself in this cesspool of laziness.
I've just "finished" the first draft of my final year project though 'finished' is a little too much of an assumptive word to use. But...I'm tired and I want to complain. So here I am. Heh.

People have been so nice though. Much as I hate doing surveys, it was almost worth the weird-slash-fearful looks I got from some people when they saw me walking toward them with a stack of papers in my arms to meet friendly and helpful individuals irregardless of race. And here I could go on a long morally/politically correct boast about racial harmony and whatnot but I won't. S'not nice to make these very real people I've met sound like simple 2-dimensional characters out of your primary school textbook.

Though, I would love to go back to those days when if I was bored in class, I could draw mustaches on the pictures in those books and not bother too much about studying because it was all in your head anyway. Ah, wishes...

Rendezvous with Mr Flu

"I seem to have caught you." I said, to which he graciously admitted.
"Tis an unfortunate time however as I have work to do and you're of no help." and then he replied, "Ah, but that's not what you say to a guest, unintended or not."
And I am forced to convene, "That's true. Then perhaps you could stage an escape seeing as I've 'caught' you after all and you are not my guest by your own willing means."
"But then to catch me you had to lure me here first."
"Once again that is the sad truth, I kept sleep at bay for too long and then embraced cold air after. But I really must work and you are making me impatient." Thus, annoyed with his smug air, I took him by the neck and left him at sleep's door. Ah, Actifed, my friend...

...

Yesterday was caps day to which I graciously forgot to blog so as not to add visual pressure to any surprise remnants of readers or lurkers I have left.

I have much work to do. Work which has sneakily piled up while I turned my back on it to live life. Nasty, nasty... and yet it is today that Mr. Flu has chosen to rendezvous with me. Nasty, nasty..

And in a sick way (ha ha), I do actually enjoy posting this nonsense that comes to me most often when I am ill.

Well, this line is my last deep breath attempt at living life before sticking my head back into that pile I must take care of.

IT'S CAPS DAY, SO THERE.

I CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO BLOG MUCH THESE DAYS ABOUT LITTLE THINGS LIKE THE MOSQUITOES THAT SNACKED ON ME THIS DAWN UNDER THE MAMAK TABLE AND MADE ME ITCH TILL NOW.

BUT BECAUSE IT FEELS BAD TO STILL BE LINKED ON MANY A GOOD FRIENDS' BLOG WHOSE CREDIBILITY I AM TARNISHING BY BEING WHAT SEEMS TO BE A DEAD SITE DESTINATION TO THOSE LINKS, I SHALL ONCE AGAIN TYPE FUTILE NONSENSE ON THE DAY THAT HAS BEEN DEEMED BY MEL, CHELLE AND SHANA DEAREST 'CAPS DAY' WHICH SIMPLY MEANS EVERYTHING UNOFFICIAL IS TO BE TYPED IN CAPS ESPECIALLY YOUR MSN CHATS. =)

THOUGH OF COURSE IT IS INADVISABLE TO INDULGE IN IDIOCRACIES WHEN YOU HAVE MANYMANYMANYMANY DEADLINES HANGING OVER YOUR HEAD, IF THE AXE IS TO FALL THEN ONE MIGHT AS WELL LEAVE A LEGACY NO MATTER HOW LAUGHABLE, EH? STILL I'LL GET TO WORK IN A BIT. RIGHT AFTER I'M DONE AND SITTING HERE SWEATING IN THE HEAT OF YET ANOTHER SWELTERING NIGHT THAT SHOULDN'T BE AFTER THE SKY RUMBLED AND GRUMBLED SO THIS EVENING, WITH MY FINGERS TAPPING THE SIDES OF THE KEYBOARD BECAUSE THE WORDS WILL FALL NO MORE AND BEGRUDGINGLY SLOUCH OFF TO DO WHAT I'M REALLY SUPPOSED TO. IT IS THE LAST SEMESTER AFTER ALL. I AM, HOWEVER, OUT OF SILLY FUNNY COMPLAINTS ABOUT SILLY NOT-SO-FUNNY-PEOPLE-THAT-ARE-IN-CHARGE-OF-OUR-GRADES IF YOU EVER FOUND THEM FUNNY IN THE FIRST PLACE AND IF BECAUSE OF THAT, ON IS TO DEDUCE THAT I HAVE GROWN UP, WELL, I GUESS YOU'RE RIGHT IF GROWING UP MEANS GETTING TOO TIRED TO BOTHER MORE OFTEN. JUST YOU WAIT THOUGH, THE CAN OF RED BULL IS JUST OUT OF REACH AT THE MOMENT...WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON IT.. *RUBS HANDS IN GLEE* COME TO THAT, THERE'S OTHER MORE WONDROUS CONCOCTIONS THAN RED BULL APPARENTLY. SOMETHING CALLED 'V' (WHICH I LIKE TO FIND WONDROUSLY APPROPRIATE) AND IS ONLY FOUND IN AUSTRALIA AS TOLD BY SERENE WHOM I'VE JUST MET AND WHO TURNS OUT TO BE A FANTASTIC MADCAPPER AS WELL. =D WOOPS, SHOULD'VE HID THAT SENTENCE FURTHER IN TOWARD THE MIDDLE OF THE PARAGRAPH SO RESUME PEOPLE WON'T COME ACROSS THIS AND EVEN IF THEY DO, IT'S SO HARD TO READ, THEY WON'T BOTHER ANYWAY.

WELL, AFOREMENTIONED MOMENT IS APPROACHING FAST. LONG STORY SHORT, I HAD A FANTASTIC FIRST FIVE DAYS OF CHINESE NEW YEAR DURING WHICH I FELT VERY MUCH SHAMELESSLY AT HOME. ON THE CONTRARY, CHAP GOH MEI ENDED ON A SUBDUED NOTE WITH THE WEATHER BEING TOO SEARINGLY HOT FOR PRODUCTIVE BRAIN ACTIVITY THUS, RESULTING IN MUCH SLUGGING THROUGHOUT THE DAY. NO, NO ORANGES WERE SACRIFICED THIS YEAR EITHER. MY CATCH CAME WITHOUT THE BAIT OF AN ORANGE. MUST BE THE INTOXICATION OF 'V'! NYAHAHAHA. AH WELL, THE HOLIDAY'S WELL AND TRULY ENDED NOW SO HERE'S THE ONLY BIT EVERYONE'S GONNA READ....

HAPPY BELATED CHRISTMAS, NEW YEAR, CHINESE NEW YEAR, CHAP GOH MEI, AND YOUR BIRTHDAY TOO IF IT WAS DURING THE PAST MONTH! =)
